ABOUT THE POSITION
The role will utilise and develop your skills and knowledge in speech therapy while using family centred and capacity building practices. It provides you with opportunities to work collaboratively with a family’s community in a “Team Around the Child and Family”.
In particular you will:
facilitate the development of communication and social skills
monitor and promote safe eating, drinking and feeding.
support assistive and augmentative technology selection, applications, training,
implementation and monitoring.
support positive behaviour strategies
promote the inclusion of children in community settings including early childhood
settings, community activities, OOSH and school.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Approved qualifications in Speech Pathology
Membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Commitment to family centred practice
Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Current driver’s licence and access to a car.
You will need or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and NDIS
Worker Screening Check
